NHS dental support for students

11 Oct 2017

Calling all new Edinburgh students…we have a budget-busting tip for you. Did you know you may be entitled to FREE (or discounted) check-ups and treatments with an NHS dentist?  All you need to do is register – we are taking student bookings at our city centre clinic now.

If you’re a full-time student, the chances are you spend most your time studying and most of your budget on socialising. It’s fair to say that your health can get a bit neglected. The good news is that looking after your smile and your mouth needn’t be expensive, and sometimes it’s free:

  • If you are under age 19 and in full time education (e.g. at Edinburgh, Heriot Watt or Napier universities), you can see a dentist for FREE with the NHS. Yes, that means free check-ups and treatments.

  • If you are over 19, you may well still be eligible for help and discounts from the NHS. Pop in to see us and we can give you the information you need to apply.

You can book online 24/7 - so organising your first NHS appointment with City Health Clinic is really easy. Or give us a call if you’d prefer to discuss more about how NHS dental treatments work.

Our dentists are super friendly and are able to make even nervous patients feel comfortable. Our clinic is right in the city centre (Earl Grey Street on Lothian Road) and you can visit us at a time that fits with your university schedule.

We’re also one of the best NHS dental teams in the whole of Scotland so you can guarantee we’ll take excellent care of your selfie smile!
